Children’s Religious Education

At Christ the King church, children in Grades 1 to 6 are invited to attend classes on Tuesdays from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. These sessions start with registration in early September and usually finish at the end of April.

Using the Call to Faith series, as directed by our Bishop, the children are led by volunteer teachers towards a knowledge of the traditions and beliefs of their faith. Lessons incorporate music, art, storytelling and sharing. At either the beginning or end of each session, all the children gather for prayer and a short talk related to the liturgical season.

Confirmation and First Communion Preparation

Using Come Join Us At The Table series, children and parents attend special sessions to prepare the children for Confirmation and First Communion, which is usually celebrated at the end of Grade 2.

Reconciliation Preparation

Preparation sessions are also offered for children wishing to celebrate Reconciliation for the first time. We also hold classes for children to be fully welcomed into our church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist.

Special events for Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter help our children enjoy the richness of our Catholic Faith.
